What is Senses by Hypster®?

Senses by Hypster® is a free Web-based service designed for the visually impaired, using speech, keyboard, voice commands, and shortcuts for easy navigation and convenient use of our free music-playlist service.

How does it work?

It uses speech technology and reads all menus and commands when a user is navigating via keyboard arrows. It also allows users to speak commands, such as “my playlists” and “search music,” for an easy navigation.

What browsers does it support?

It supports most popular browsers. However, some browsers require additional plug-in permissions from users. Below is a list of browsers and the features they support.
How can I use voice commands?

To use voice commands, click the CTRL button and listen for the cue (you should hear a beep). Give a command and wait until it is processed. Please note that Chrome for Windows and Mac uses native voice recognition and speech technology and is, therefore, much faster than other browsers.

What is “shortcuts”?

“Shortcuts” is a sequences of keys that allows users to quickly navigate between website pages. For example, when you’re on the homepage and you want to listen to your playlists, press “1” to access your playlists and “1” to listen to your first playlist. In other words, you’ll press “1-1” and your music will play.

How can I add songs to my playlist?

You can press and release the CTRL key and say, “Add to my playlist” or simply click “1” when the song you would like to add is currently playing. After that, you’ll need to confirm entry and the song will be added.

How can I remove songs from my playlist?

You can press and release the CTRL key and say, "Remove from my playlist” or simply click “2” when the song you would like to remove is currently playing. After that, you’ll need to confirm entry and the song will be removed.

What languages does Senses by Hypster® support?

Currently, it supports English, but it will be expanded to include more languages in the near future.

What if the voice commands are not working?

Make sure that your mic is adjusted properly. Sometimes the settings for the computer's microphone are too low, and Hypster can't recognize voice commands. Background noise can affect the voice recognition system, so try to speak directly into the microphone.
