MORTAL KOMBAT X
More details have emerged surrounding the tenth entry in the Mortal Kombat series. Due out across most major platforms (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC) on April 15, it's has been described by developer NetherRealm as "the Mortal Kombat we've always wanted to do." One of the major draws is a new Faction Wars mode that's available to online players. According to Gamespot, it asks us to choose between five groups (White Lotus, Brotherhood of Shadow, Black Dragon, Special Forces, and Lin Kuei) for any single or multiplayer battles we participate in. The top faction at the end of each week will receive "special awards," making the iconic game’s competitive spirit felt internationally.
As for how Mortal Kombat's limb-loosening Fatalities have evolved over the past two decades, creative director Ed Boon told PlayStation. Blog they'll be as brutal as they've ever been. "We have these meetings and everyone comes up with ideas for Fatalities. The ones that people say, 'There’s no way we can do that' — they're the first ones we work on."
