PWR BTTM Gets Introspective On Deceptive New Release

PWR BTTM has changed things up with the third taste of its upcoming Pageant album. "LOL" is a more raw and complex romantic rock ballad placing Ben Hokins' naive heart on display. It follows the release of infectiously upbeat pop-punk odes "Big Beautiful Day" and "Answer My Text."

Despite being named "LOL," the track and its simple video really is no laughing matter. Hopkins better explains this in a brief statement via Facebook:

LOL is a song about trying. Trying to understand. Trying to grow up. Trying to reconcile who you wish you were with who you can't help being. Sometimes you try as hard as you can to do those things and you fail. You fucking fail really, really hard. So hard that you have to give yourself a break and just laugh about how hard and weird things can be; about how no matter how secure you think you are deep down there's a part of us all that feels like they're doing everything for the first time.

Pageant arrives May 12.
