After he released his highly-anticipated album, Astroworld, Travis Scott is not holding back surprises. The album sold more than 450,000 copies within the first week, debuted all 17 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 ad two even made the Top 10.
On Friday, the Houston native announced the first ever “Astroworld Festival” to take place in his home town on Nov. 17.
“Our ultimate goal in launching this Fest is to bring some well-deserved recognition to Travis’ hometown of Houston, the place that has made him both the man and creative artist he is today,” said Scott’s manager and GM of Cactus Jack Records David Stromberg. “H-Town has an incredible rich culture history, and we look forward to showcasing to residents from Travis’ own backyard and across the globe what makes this city so special.”
The theme from the album will be brought to the stage where Scott will perform. The Fest will take place at NRG park. It is right across the street from the park that inspired the album.
Scott will be headlining and hand-picking the other performers, whom will be announced later.
